The identification of critical functions is an important part of resolution planning, which is often conducted as a first step to help inform appropriate resolution strategies. During recent years, FSB member jurisdictions have started developing their insurance resolution frameworks, identifying critical functions, and acquiring practical experience. At the same time, digital innovation has started shaping the landscape of the insurance sector, modifying both insurance products and insurance business processes. This has affected resolution planning efforts and the continuity of critical functions in resolution.
This virtual outreach event will discuss topics related to the identification of critical functions in resolution planning from the perspective of the insurance industry. It is also an opportunity for stakeholders to share their views on the impact of digital innovation on the assessment and continuity of critical functions and more broadly on resolution planning for insurers.
